The Healing Lineage

A Third-Generation Healer

Healing runs in Dr. Bose's family. His grandfather, the late Sri Krishnan Vaidhyar, was widely renowned for his knowledge of Ayurveda. His father, Sri T.K. Damodaran (Tachaparambil Krishnan Damodaran), carried the tradition forward through the practice of visha chikitsa — traditional toxicology treatment — which he offered on a purely charitable basis, never accepting fees from those who came to him for help.

Growing up in this environment, Dr. Bose absorbed the principles of Ayurvedic healing long before he entered formal education. The commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care that defined his grandfather and father became the foundation of his own practice.

Training & Early Career

Dr. Bose pursued his formal education at the Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier Ayurveda College in Kottakkal, one of India's foremost institutions for classical Ayurvedic study, graduating with a B.A.M (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine).

After graduation, he had the opportunity to work alongside Padmasree Dr. Rajagopal (D.A.M., M.B.B.S., F.N.A.A.), who served as the Research Director of the Amala Cancer Research Center and Clinical Advisor of Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala. This experience gave Dr. Bose exposure to rigorous research methodology and the integration of traditional Ayurvedic practice with modern medical understanding.

He further broadened his clinical experience at the Varkala Naturopathic Center, deepening his understanding of natural healing modalities and their applications in treating chronic conditions.

Learning Marma Chikitsa

In 1998, Dr. Bose began training under Marmacharya Sri Sudheer Vaidhyar — a healer who had developed his own methods of treating patients through the ancient science of vital energy points. This training in Marma Chikitsa would become the defining chapter of Dr. Bose's career.

Dr. Bose is the only Ayurvedic physician who worked closely with Sri Sudheer Vaidhyar for over a decade, gaining deep, hands-on knowledge of marma point treatment that cannot be learned from textbooks alone. This extended apprenticeship gave him insights into the subtleties of diagnosing and treating conditions through the body's vital points — knowledge he now applies daily in his practice at Agasthya.

Founding Agasthya

Drawing on his family heritage, formal training, and years of learning Marma Chikitsa, Dr. Bose founded Agasthya Ayurvedic Medical Centre in Ezhupunna, Alappuzha — building a hospital dedicated to treating the kinds of conditions that conventional medicine often addresses only through surgery or long-term medication.

He also served as a consultant at the Amrita School of Ayurveda for 7 years, contributing to the education of the next generation of Ayurvedic physicians while continuing to refine his clinical approach at Agasthya.

Today, Agasthya is an NABH-certified hospital that has treated over 10,000 patients — many of whom had been advised surgery elsewhere. Patients travel from across India and abroad, including the UAE, Canada, Belgium, and France, seeking Dr. Bose's specialized care.

Treatment Approach

Every patient who comes to Dr. Bose receives individualized care. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol. Here is how he typically approaches a case:

1

Detailed Consultation & Pulse Diagnosis

Dr. Bose begins with a thorough consultation that includes traditional Nadi Pariksha (pulse diagnosis), review of medical reports and imaging (MRI, X-ray), and assessment of the patient's Prakriti (constitution), lifestyle, and symptom history.

2

Personalized Treatment Plan

Based on the assessment, a customized treatment plan is created specifying the exact combination of therapies, their duration (typically 7, 14, or 21 days), internal medicines, and dietary recommendations suited to the individual.

3

Marma Chikitsa with Supporting Therapies

The core of treatment is Marma Chikitsa — targeted therapy on the body's vital energy points. This is combined with supporting Panchakarma treatments such as Kati Vasti, Pizhichil, Njavara Kizhi, and other therapies selected for each patient's specific condition.

4

Ongoing Monitoring & Adjustment

Dr. Bose monitors each patient's progress throughout the treatment stay, adjusting therapies and medicines as the body responds. This close attention ensures the treatment evolves with the patient's healing.
